# Create API Key

This workflow creates a new API key in the Exa dashboard, which you need to authenticate requests to Exa's live web data API. You'll navigate to the API Keys section, provide a project name, and confirm creation to receive your key.

## Steps

1. Click "API Keys" link
2. Click "Create Key" button
3. Type into "Project name" textbox
4. Click "Create a Key" button
5. Click button
6. Click "Done" button
