# Pause Monitor

Pause an active news monitor in your Exa dashboard to temporarily stop real-time data collection for a specific search query. Use this workflow when you need to halt monitoring without deleting the monitor configuration.

## Steps

1. Click "Monitors NEW" link
2. Type into "Enter a search query for the monitor..." textbox
3. Click "Latest News On XAI Every hour" button
4. Click "Pause" button
