# Create Read-only Nia API Key

Create a read-only API key in Nia with a custom label and copy it to your clipboard for immediate use. This workflow is useful when you need a restricted API key for testing, sharing with team members, or integrating with third-party services that only require read access to Nia's search and index capabilities.

## Steps

1. Click "API Keys" link
2. Click "Create API key" button
3. Type into "Key Label" textbox
4. Click "Read-only access" switch
5. Click "Create Key" button
6. Click "Copy Key" button
7. Click "Done" button
