# Create Vault

Create a new vault in Nia, a Search & Index API for Agents, by providing a name and optional description. Vaults serve as organized namespaces for indexing and managing knowledge sources that your agents can search and retrieve from.

## Steps

1. Click "Vaults" link
2. Click "New vault" link
3. Type into "Name" textbox
4. Click "Description optional" textbox
5. Type into "Description optional" textbox
6. Click "Create vault" button
