Overview

ProjectX's dock serves as a persistent taskbar for launching your most-used applications. By adding apps to the dock, you reduce the time needed to locate and open tools, improving your workflow efficiency within the Infinity ProjectX platform. The App Drawer provides a searchable catalog of all available applications in your workspace, making it easy to find and pin exactly what you need without cluttering your dock with unnecessary items.

Before you begin

  • You have an active ProjectX account and are logged into infinity.projectx.cloud
  • You know the name or partial name of the application you want to add to the dock
  • Your user role has permissions to customize dock settings (typically available to all standard users)

Step by step

ClickApp Drawer (Ctrl+Alt+A)

Open the App Drawer by clicking the 'App Drawer' button in the ProjectX interface. This displays a searchable catalog of all available applications in your workspace.

Tip. You can also open the App Drawer using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+A (Cmd+Alt+A on Mac) for faster access if you use this feature frequently.

TypeSearch apps...

Type the name or partial name of the application you want to add into the 'Search apps...' search field. The results will filter in real-time as you type.

Tip. Search is case-insensitive and matches partial names, so you don't need to type the complete app name. For example, typing 'doc' will find 'Documents' or 'DocViewer'.

ClickAdd to Dock

Click the 'Add to Dock' button next to your selected application to pin it to your dock. The app will now appear as a quick-access icon on your dock.

Tip. You can add multiple apps to your dock in a single session by repeating steps 2–3 without closing the App Drawer. This is more efficient than opening and closing the drawer for each app.

Confirm it worked

  1. 1The App Drawer opens and displays a search field with the placeholder text 'Search apps...'
  2. 2After typing your search term, matching applications appear in the search results
  3. 3After clicking 'Add to Dock', the selected application appears as a new icon on your dock
  4. 4The newly added app icon remains on the dock after closing the App Drawer
