Overview

Infinity (infinity.projectx.cloud) is a comprehensive cloud platform built by ProjectX that integrates multiple development tools and services. VS Code is a core development environment available within Infinity for coding and project management. Rather than navigating through menus or file systems, the platform provides a searchable app launcher that lets you instantly access VS Code with a few keystrokes. This workflow is essential for developers who need fast access to their editor without leaving the Infinity interface.

Before you begin

  • You must have an active Infinity/ProjectX account with access to infinity.projectx.cloud
  • You must be logged into your Infinity account in your current browser session
  • VS Code must be available in your Infinity environment (typically enabled by default for developer accounts)

Step by step

ClickSearch

Click on the search field at the top of the Infinity dashboard to activate the app launcher. This opens an input field where you can type application names to quickly find the tools you need.

Tip. The search box is typically located in the header area of the Infinity interface. You can also press a keyboard shortcut (commonly Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows) to focus the search field from anywhere on the page.

TypeSearch

Type 'VS Code' in the search field to filter the available applications. The system will display matching results in a dropdown menu as you type.

Tip. You do not need to type the full name—'VS' or 'Code' will usually return the VS Code application in the results. The search is case-insensitive and supports partial matches.

ClickVS Code App ↵

Click on the 'VS Code App' result that appears in the dropdown menu to launch the application. This will open VS Code in your Infinity environment, either as a new tab or embedded within the platform interface.

Tip. The 'VS Code App' entry is typically highlighted or appears at the top of the search results. You can also press Enter or Return after typing to select the first result.

Confirm it worked

  1. 1The search field is visible and focused on the Infinity home screen
  2. 2Typing produces autocomplete suggestions, including 'VS Code App' in the dropdown results
  3. 3Clicking the VS Code App result launches the application, and VS Code either opens in a new tab/window or loads within the Infinity interface
